Sunny Saturday morning

Guess how i got woken up this morning? with big kisses and hug from my kid, can this day start any better? Its funny how once you become a parent you enjoy the little things in life, you see the world through the eyes of your kids and its quite amazing. Who knew it was so much fun splashing water, making bubbles or simply playing with a measuring cup and a spoon hhahha.

Speaking of kids, Halloween is coming soon and the more my kids will get older the more its going to become an issue i think. Since we live in the west we are exposed to different holidays that we do not celebrate as muslims , growing up for me we knew christmas ,easter etc where not part of our religion so we did not mind it even thought coming back from christmas break everyone else was talking about what they got as presents was a tad bit annoying lol we were fine. But fot Halloween my parents let us go out get candy which i loved im not gonna lie, but now that im a mother i find myself thinking and analyzing everything because i want whats best for my kids and i want to teach them to be good muslim. So me and my husband had an interesting conversation recently about halloween and how we should handle it with our kids. I did some research and even thought in the beginning i was not against it, now that i have more knowledge of it as i muslim i will not let my kids celebrate it.

Instead of them feeling as if we are not being nice we will make them understand why and also that day do sometime else special instead, visit their friends/family, go out for their favorite treats etc. We will also make sure that on Eid day they have a blast so they always know that we too as muslims have fun holidays.

What do you guys think about halloween? How do you explain to young kids not to celebrate ?
 I wanna hear your opinions.
